Rainfall warning for tonight, up to 40-60mm expected

Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • Blind River – Thessalon
  • Espanola – Killarney
  • Manitoulin Island

Rain associated with a developing low pressure system is forecast to spread into much of Northeastern Ontario tonight. The rain is expected to be heavy at times, and isolated thunderstorms may also occur. Rainfall amounts in the 40 to 60 mm are are possible by Tuesday night. The precipitation will taper off thereafter, however showery weather is likely to persist in some areas through Wednesday and Thursday.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
