ROMAN DMYTRO SZEWCZYK

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Roman Szewczyk on January 22, 2012 after a brief but intense battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Lise Szewczyk (nee Deschamps) of Hanmer. Loving father of Christina (Partner Jeff Pyoli) of Gatineau, Catherine (partner Jimmy Leblanc) of Ottawa and Lily of PetSave. Roman will be sorely missed by his sisters Luba Switzer (Doug) of Hanmer and M’Chigeeng, and Natalie Szewczyk of Sudbury, his brother John Szewczyk (Betty Bardswich) of Mindemoya and many brothers and sisters-in-law including Rolly Deschamps (Julie) of Spring Bay. Roman was born and raised in the Sudbury area, but spent many years camping on Manitoulin and loved to golf at Brookwood Brae Golf Course. Funeral mass was at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Church, Sudbury and cremation at Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to Toronto General Hospital Head and Neck Unit, Northern Cancer Foundation and PetSave.
