THESSALON–Family and friends are mourning the sudden passing of 34-year-old Shawn Gibbons of Mindemoya, son of Mike and Brenda Gibbons of Manitowaning, today.
According to news reports, Mr. Gibbons was travelling on Highway 129, near Gogama, early Thursday evening when his vehicle went through a guardrail before landing upside down in the Mississaugi River. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr. Gibbons is married with two young boys.
Details as to what may have caused the accident have yet to be released by police.
