A note of congratulations on 135 years of reporting Island news

To the Expositor:

We as stakeholders of the Manitoulin, residential or seasonal, need to be aware of the values we hold, the beliefs we harbour and the decisions we make are based on our assumptions, our experiences, our education and what we know for a fact and especially on a local level. After all, with mail-in voting now gaining popularity, our seasonal people have a huge say in all we do.

We rely on local media for the current news and facts about what is important and what we should be aware of.

We trust the local media as an authority for news, information, education and entertainment.

Considering that powerful influence, you fulfill that need and with worldclass expertise. Your paper casts a wide net and captures everything from our youth through Kids in the Hall, Player Profile and Lakeview Leading the Way to police reports on crime and activities that generate interest at any level.

Please accept my heartfelt appreciative thanks and congratulations for endlessly directing your attention to our students’ world of happenings. We can use your paper as a thermometer of the health of our school system on the Island. I hasten to add, the health of our school system looks great and our students’ education is in good hands with the staff we have.

Happy Birthday, Bon Anniversaire, Mino Dbishkaan.
