DOUGLAS MCDERMID

Douglas McDermid passed away peacefully at Mindemoya Hospital on March 15, 2014 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Douglas was predeceased by wife Phylma (nee Bowerman) and parents Myrtle and Niel. Also predeceased by brothers Gary and Jack (Audrey). He will be sadly missed his sisters Daurene (Wally Dembowski predeceased), Pat (Bud Wilkin), Madeline, Joan (Bob Prior), Mary Lou (Wayne Slomke), Donna and Bev (Tom Carrick) as well as brother Max (Mary). He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Douglas will be missed dearly by his close friend Donna. Douglas worked hard as a farmer in Providence Bay and loved his many animals. He was a dear friend to many. A gathering of family and friends was held on the March 20, 2014 at the Island Funeral Home from 7 pm to 9 pm. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 6:30 pm at the Providence Bay Cemetery. All welcome. Donations in memory of Douglas would be appreciated to the Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary or the Chemo Project at the Mindemoya Hospital.
