Parkinson-DeathShirley Ann Parkinson, a resident of Little Current, died peacefully at Health Sciences North, Sudbury on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the age of 73. Born to Gladys (McArthur) and William Pickard in Allan Township, Manitoulin on September 21, 1940. Beloved wife of William “Grant” Parkinson. Loved mother of Sheldon (Rhonda) Parkinson of Sudbury and Heather (Richard) Waters of Mindemoya. Proud Grandma of Chris, Kyle and Patrick. Cherished Great-Grandma of Bryce and Colson. Dear sister of Douglas (Ellen) Pickard of Belleville and sister-in-law of Gerald Parkinson (predeceased), Albert (Sherry) Parkinson of Little Current, Betty (Jack) Wood of Sheguiandah, Dorothy (Alfred) McDougall of Naughton, Shirley Dell of Little Current, Patricia Parkinson (predeceased), Dale McDougall (Dennis predeceased) of Ice Lake, Wesley (predeceased) (Noreen) Parkinson of Little Current, Wellington (Jim) Parkinson of Sudbury. Shirley loved spending time with family and friends. She was very social, enjoying euchre and bingo. She was always first in line to offer a helping hand, she was a true “Mom” at heart. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden. Family and friends will gather at Island Funeral Home, Little Current on Saturday, May 3, 2014. Visitation from 1 pm to 3 pm.
