Giuseppe Ferro passed away peacefully Sunday, April 20 at the age of 93. Son of Ipolita Bagnarol Ferro and Antonio Ferro, Giuseppe (Beppi) was born in Sella, Italy in the Friuli region. He was a devoted husband to Maria Fraulin Ferro, predeceased in 1990, and is survived by his four children Tony Ferro (Giselle), Anna Desi Willems (Peter), George Ferro (Silvia) and Ed Ferro (Mary). Nonno to 12 grandchildren, Lisa Cazabon (Pierre), Terry Ferro (predeceased), Laura Ferro (Joel), Linda Chartrand (Shawn) Rachel Neff (William), Juliana Hamm (Benjamin), Amy Zieziula, (Nicholas), Joey, Daniela, Julian Ferro, Nathan and Maria Ferro, and nine great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sisters Vanda (DeMarchi), Emilia (Delle Vedova), both in Italy. Predeceased by his brother Giochino, sisters Lidia, Rosa and Mariucci in Italy. Survived by brother-in-law Giovanni and Ilda Fraulin of Little Current, Asunta Fraulin of Azilda. Like so many Italians after the war, Giuseppe immigrated to Canada in 1954 in search of a better life. He worked a brief time in the 1950s as a short order cook in Little Current, and then worked in construction for 45 years in Sudbury. In his later years, he loved his garden and enjoyed a glass of wine with friends. He was a lifetime member of the Caruso Club and the Alpini Club. Nonno Beppi was a devoted husband, father, nonno, and bisnonno, who loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends called after 10 am on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Funeral Prayers were in the R J Barnard Chapel on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 11:30 am. Interment in the family plot at the Parklawn Cemetery.
