KLAUS HELMUT BACH

March 31, 1934 – June 18, 2011

Klaus Bach, Gore Bay resident for over 30 years, passed away after a short battle with aggressive cancers. He died peacefully at his new home in Guelph on June 18th, 2011 surrounded by his family. He was 77 years old. He was Donna’s cherished husband and partner for over 52 years; beloved father of Andreas and Stefanie, and special Opa to Markus and Rebecca. Klaus was truly one of a kind, and many will remember him as the friendly and knowledgeable proprietor of the Island Pantry. Klaus’ zest for life, open mind and easy-going nature made him a friend to so many, young and old alike. Klaus managed to have one more visit to his beloved Bavaria in March, but by the time he returned home he began to go downhill fast. It was all inoperable. Luckily he was spared surgery, chemotherapy or other discomforts, and he suffered no pain. He leaves a massive hole in the lives of his family and friends, and all who met or knew him. Friends and family gathered at Andreas’ home in Toronto on June 22 to share their fond memories of this wonderful man who will never be forgotten.
