Three men charged in M’Chigeeng home invasion

M’CHIGEENG–UCCM Anishnaabe Police were called to investigate a report of a home invasion that occurred on the M’Chigeeng First Nation on Saturday, October 5th, 2013. Individuals forcefully entered the home in M’Chigeeng First Nation and accosted the occupants before leaving. The incident led police to charge the following persons;

A 27 year old Little Current man is charged with;

  • Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence, Section 348(1 )(a) C.C.C.
  • Assault with a Weapon, Section 267(a) C.C.C.
  • Robbery with Weapon, Section 344(1)(b) C.C.C.
  • Extortion, Section 346(1.1)(b) C.C.C.

A 32 year old Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation man is charged with;

  • Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence, Section 348(1 )(a) C.C.C.
  • Robbery with Weapon, Section 344(1)(b) C.C.C.
  • Extortion, Section 346(1.1 )(b) C.C.C.
  • Assault with a Weapon, Section 267(a) C.C.C.
  • Theft Under $5000, Section 334(b) C.C.C.
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Section 733.1 (1) C.C.C.

A 32 year old M’Chigeeng First Nation man is charged with;

  • Theft Under $5000, Section 334(b) C.C.C.
  • Assault with a Weapon, Section 267(a) C.C.C.
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Section 733.1 (1) C.C.C.
  • Robbery with Weapon, Section 344(1)(b) C.C.C.
  • Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence, Section 348(1 )(a) C.C.C.
  • Extortion, Section 346(1.1 )(b) C.C.C.

The Little Current man was scheduled to appear in Gore Bay Bail court April 17th, 2014.

The man from Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation is scheduled to appear in Gore Bay Court October 6th, 2014.

The M’Chigeeng man remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Gore Bay Court April 22nd, 2014.
