Spring Bay Rural Route – Mar 12-14

March 10—Last week was much warmer and not so windy.

A number of ladies attended the World Day of Prayer at the United Church in Mindemoya on Friday. The topic was Streams in the Desert written by the ladies of Egypt. Following the service they served a tasty lunch.

Happy belated birthday wishes to Bill Montgomery and George Popowich who celebrated last week. We hope they had a good day.

Royce, Tracey and Lexis Young spent the weekend in Sudbury.

Many are still sick with the cold and flu.

A number of people enjoyed the men’s breakfast at the United Missionary Church in Spring Bay last week.

I watched the Brier, it was played for gold and silver on Sunday. The Koe’s Alberta rink won the gold and BC won the silver. Stoughton won the Bronze. A lot of good games to watch.

I had a busy birthday weekend. Lavina, Sheila Fogal and Lillian G. came on Thursday and brought birthday cake and goodies. We had an enjoyable afternoon. Thanks girls!

Friday after the World Day of Prayer service in Mindemoya I went to the Anglican Church in Little Current for a lovely roast beef dinner. Had birthday cake after with the Eaglesons and David and Connie.

Providence Bay men’s curling bonspiel was held on the weekend. The winner’s of the Peter McAllister Sr. plaque were Gordon Gilpin, Chris Gordon, Jim Gilpin and Don Orford. These names will go on the plaque. The runner’s up were Terry Addison, Jack Clark, Mark Addison and Bill Reich. A lot of good curling. A lovely banquet dinner was served on Saturday. It was an enjoyable weekend.

I want to thank everyone for the lovely gifts, cards, flowers and so many phone calls. I was overwhelmed, it was just beautiful to hear from so many people. Thank you so much for everything, Erma.
