February 27—The last of February and it hasn’t so far been a bad week.
The Twilight Club held its February meeting on Monday. It was an Italian dinner at noon. They paid a toonie and brought a dessert or salad. Slim Fields did the sauce for the spaghetti and Bev Webster made the meatballs. A large number of people attended and enjoyed the meal very much. Thanks to all who helped. A job well done. Maybe we should have another kind some other time.
The Olympics are over and both men and women put Canada on the map. Sault Ste. Marie was proud of the Jacob rink winning gold and all the other ones for bring home other medals. Well done.
This weekend the Brier starts.
Spring Bay euchre starts on March 7.
Get well wishes to Lois Newton who had knee surgery.
A large number of people attended the luncheon on Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mindemoya. Many thanks to all who helped and contributed and all who supported it.
On February 20, a number of people enjoyed the noon luncheon and fellowship together at the Pentecostal Church in Spring Bay.
Royce and Margaret Young spent a couple of days in Sudbury and visited their daughter and granddaughter.

February 20—This month is slipping away and the weather so far hasn’t been so bad.
I don’t know if Canada Post is raising the stamps to $1 next month or not.
Two weeks ago I mailed my news Thursday morning in my box. The mail is picked up in the morning and goes out after lunch. It still hasn’t reached the Expositor. I would like to know where it is? This isn’t the first time it didn’t reach the Expositor by noon on Monday. So I hope the service will be better when they are raising the price of stamps so much. But I feel there will be less letters going.
Sympathy to the Wright family in the passing of Marilyn recently. Also to the Sheppard family in the passing of Ronald and to the Billard family in the passing of Josh. They will all be missed.
The Pentecostal Church here is holding a luncheon and fellowship together on Thursday. They provide soup and the beverages. Sandwiches and dessert is potluck. All are welcome.
There will be concerts by Rick Piché and the Hawberry Boys on Friday, March 21 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, March 22 at 2 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Mindemoya. Tickets are on sale for $15 per person at several places. See the ad in the Expositor or call 705-859-3925. I am sure you will enjoy the entertainment.
Talked to Mieke on the phone and she is doing okay. Also Nola Haner called from Florida to ask how the curling was doing. So far I told her okay and Thursday they are playing off for gold. The Jones and Jacobs rinks play for the gold on Friday. (We know that they both won the gold medal. Great news.)
Providence Bay hosted a ladies’ curling bonspiel last weekend. 14 rinks were in the spiel. I haven’t got the winners’ names as I wasn’t down.
