Bruce O’Hare of Lakeshore Excursions was pleased to announce his company had secured a new ship to Manitoulin, Pearl Mist, a luxury liner which carries over 200 passengers and boasts six lounges, spacious staterooms and dining room. The cruise ship measures 335 feet long with a beam of 56 feet and consists of six decks.

The Pearl Mist will be stopping in Little Current four times over the summer, including one of those visits on the Sunday of Haweater Weekend. Other stops on the Pearl Mist’s voyage include Toronto, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Windsor, Midland, Parry Sound, Mackinac Island, Holland (Michigan) and Chicago.

The MS Hamburg, no stranger to Manitoulin as this vessel was once known as the Columbus, will again be travelling North Channel waters twice this fall, also stopping in Little Current as part of its Great Lakes tour.

Now owned by Plantours Kreuzfahrten of Germany, the MS Hamburg measures a whopping 472 feet and is also comprised of six decks, including one with a swimming pool. The Columbus was the first modern cruise ship through the North Channel in 15 years.
