Ethel Grace (Wagg) McLellan passed peacefully on August 4, 2011 with two of her nieces by her bedside. She was born March 10, 1920 on Manitoulin, ninth of eleven children. Daughter of the late John and Laura (Pryne) Wagg. Siblings: Russel and Thelma, Mable Wyman (Stan), Arthur and Winnefred; Pearl and Ed Keenan-Bazil Somers, Tom and Dora-Eva; Jessie and Fred Thirkill, Irene and Don Williamson-Fred Wiffen, Violet and Lyman Elliott, Evelyn and Chester Spry, Lillian and Max Bailey, all predeceased. Ethel met and married Norman McLellan in Toronto and helped raise his two children Norma (John) Moore and James and Barbara predeceased. They lived in Toronto where their home became a refuge for family and friends. Norman passed away in September 1964 and Ethel carried on being a giver and caregiver always helping others. After some health issues she moved back north and eventually to Manitoulin Centennial Manor which she considered her home. She certainly cared for all her caregivers as they cared for her. She will be missed greatly. Loved and loving aunt to all (many) but very special to Doug and Marg Elliot, Linda and Ron Thirkill, and Michael Elliott. We will miss her but will always remember. Friends and family are welcome to a graveside service at the Mindemoya Cemetery at 1 pm on Saturday, August 13, 2011. A luncheon and fellowship will follow at the Mindemoya United Church downstairs. In leu of flowers, memorial donations to the Mindemoya Hospital Auxilary or Mindemoya United Church.
