WHILARENE “BILLIE” LORIS HOCKEN

In loving memory of Whilarene “Billie” Loris Hocken who passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Great Northern Nursing Centre on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at the age of 91. Predeceased by her parents Irene (nee Orr), Wm. Mitchell (1920) and Russ McCannell (1994). Loving mother of Maxine (Ken) Jewitt of Sault Ste. Marie, Dianne (Brian) Shillington of Vulcan, Alberta, Bob (Jean) Hocken of Kelowna, BC. Cherished grandmother of Mary Anne (Bob) Cowdrey, David Jewitt, Karen (Brent) Derochie, Sandra (Andrew) Vogan, Gary (Connie) Shillington, Ken (Jennifer) Shillington, Tricia (Roy) Vogt. Proud great-grandmother of Michael and Jennifer Cowdrey, Jordan and Breanne Derochie, Luke and Katie Vogan, Matthew Shillington, Liam and Quinn Shillington, Greg and April Wardell. Billie was a lifelong resident of Little Current and area. Billie had many hobbies over the years including curling, baseball, playing cards, gardening, doing crosswords, knitting and entertaining. Billie was a long-time Canada Post employee in Little Current. She always had a house and yard full of family and friends on Haweater Weekend. Billie was in the Soo for the past seven months, but with family support, came for her last Haweater Weekend. Above all Billie was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed. Visitation is from 7 pm – 9 pm on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Island Funeral Home. Funeral Service is at 11 am on Friday, August 19, 2011 at Island Funeral Home. Burial in Mountainview Cemetery. Donations to Little Current United Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation or local charities. Arrangements entrusted to the Island Funeral Home.
