The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Alphonse Demers in Mindemoya on Friday, December 6, 2013 at the age of 73 years. Beloved husband of Denise (née Duhamel) Demers of Mindemoya. Son of the late Ernest and late Marguerite (née Chartrand) Demers. Loving father of Monique Levesque (Denis) of Sudbury, Denis (Mary-Jo) and Marc (Cathy) both of Kingston. Dear brother of Gilberte Gauthier (late Edgar) of Windsor and Claude Demers (Pauline) of Sturgeon Falls. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Gabrielle Nadon (late Oza), Rhéal (late Jeanne), Hubert (Agnes of Manitoulin Island), Paul-Henri (late Jeanne D’Arc), Jeanne Labute (late Adrien), Irene Girard (late Paul Pilon and late Gilbert), Agnes Pitre (late Zéphir) and Lorraine Lamarche (late Germain). Sadly missed by his eight grandchildren, Kayla (fiancé Derek), April, Steven (friend Stephanie), Samantha, Danielle, Alexandra, Roch (Naomi) and Liam. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family received relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 2 pm to 5pm and 7 pm to 9:30 pm. A funeral service followed on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 11 am in the Funeral Home Chapel, Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations (by cheque only) to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
