To the Expositor:
We are proud Americans but profoundly saddened and embarrassed by the words and actions of the current occupant of our White House. Our family cottage on Manitoulin was built in 1946 and we are now in our fourth generation. We have nothing but respect and admiration for Canada and Canadians.
We, like many Americans, feel shame and embarrassment by this President’s behavior. We hope that Canadians realize that his behavior does not reflect the feelings of the vast majority of Americans including many of his supporters.
Our families look forward to spending part of our summer again on Manitoulin. In the meantime, we will seek out Canadian beer, maple syrup and any other Made in Canada products to show our love and support for your wonderful country.
