TORONTO—The FedNor-sponsored Northern Ontario Agri-Food Pavilion is once again providing an important spotlight for Northern Ontario businesses on an international stage at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. There are over 50 businesses and organizations representing Northern Ontario, including several from Manitoulin Island, through the pavilion at the 2024 Fair, the world’s largest combined indoor agricultural fair.
“Northern Ontario produces a treasure trove of fantastic goods and services, and the government of Canada is proud to support the region’s growers and producers in sharing that with the rest of the world. FedNor’s investment in the Northern Ontario Agri-Food Pavilion puts a bright spotlight on our agri-food sector every year and ensures that the region has its place on the international stage provided by the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair,” said the Honourable Patty Hajdu, minister of Indigenous services and minister responsible for FedNor.
“Events like the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair are vital for showcasing what we do best in Northern Ontario and fostering connections within our agricultural community,” said Marc G. Serre, member of parliament for Nickel Belt and parliamentary secretary to the ministers of energy and natural resources and official languages. “FedNor’s investments truly help businesses find new markets so they can continue to grow. This year’s Northern Ontario pavilion will serve as a platform for networking and sharing best practices, emphasizing the importance of agriculture in sustaining Northern Ontario’s economy and culture.”
Since it began in 2001, the Northern Ontario Agri-Food pavilion has helped generate nearly $20 million in exhibitor sales. The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, which sees hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, takes place in Toronto from November 1-10.
