This beautiful creation also won the award for best decorated and took the Business Division under the Wired Up Electrical banner. Having competed, and lost, in the previous two Haweater Weekend boat races, the family buckled down and created the ultimate sailing vessel for 2024. This year marked the cardboard boat race’s 19th edition. Unwind with Haweater yoga on the docks. The A division champions in the Haweater Slo-Pitch tournament are Runnin’ and Gunnin’. And they’re off! There were many participants in the Breakaway Sports and Cycle Haw 5K Run. These youngsters provided hydration and moral support for the Haw Run participants racing under a blazing hot sun. Oaklynn and Dawsyn have their faces painted. Winners of the Huron Bass Derby Haw stop were Galen Trudeau and Santanna Eshkawkogan with their 27.30 lb haul. The Wilkin family Haweater parade float never disappoints. Youths from Batman’s Cottages and Campground had a float to recognize their fundraising efforts for a young girl dealing with serious health concerns. There was even rock climbing at Low Island!
