SUDBURY—Rainbow District School Board (RDSB) and the federation representing Professional Student Services Personnel (PSSP) in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island have reached a tentative contract agreement at the local level.
The employee group is represented by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) District 3. There are approximately 40 employees in this bargaining unit.
PSSP include psychometrists, psychologists, psychological associates, speech and language pathologists, social workers, Indigenous support workers, attendance counsellors and the administrator of performing arts.
The new deal, if ratified, will be in effect from September 1, 2022, to August 31, 2026, aligning with the professional settlements at the central bargaining table.
“We commend the bargaining teams from the board and the federation for working together to achieve this tentative agreement locally,” said RDSB chair David Farrow. “Our student services personnel are an integral part of the team of caring adults who nurture student success in Rainbow schools.”
“We value our work with students and are pleased to have reached this local tentative agreement with Rainbow District School Board,” said Don Watson, president of the PSSP Unit. “We look forward to presenting the agreement to our membership for ratification.”
