Construction of new Billings Township firehall nears completion

KAGAWONG—Work on the new Billings township fire hall is expected to be complete within the next couple of weeks.

“The construction company (Quinan Construction) is hoping that the firehall work will be complete by mid-September, weather permitting, with the worst-case scenario being the end of the month,” said Billings Mayor Bryan Barker. He explained that work to still be completed includes the floor in the building being painted, bunker lockers being installed and repaving the outside of the entrance bay with asphalt.

Construction on the new two-bay firehall began in early April.

“The firehall building does look sharp, they did a very good job,” stated Mayor Barker. The township will be holding an official opening of the new fire hall at a future date.
