Mindemoya golfer notches first hole in one and a bucket list accomplishment at Brookewood Brae Golf Course par 3 hole

MINDEMOYA—Steve Shaffer has achieved the goal of every golfer, notching a hole in one!

“A hole in one was on my bucket list of accomplishments,” stated Mr. Shaffer. “It was pretty exciting.”

Mr. Shaffer notched the ace on the par three eighth hole at Brookwood Brae Golf Course in Mindemoya. He garnered the ace in front of his three fellow players (Wayne Murdock, Greg Towns and John Gilchrist) at men’s night at the golf course, August 16.

“It was a little surreal. We were all asking, ‘did that really just happen, did that go in?’” said Mr. Shaffer.

“None of us could see the ball when it was rolling toward the pin,” said Mr. Shaffer.

“This was my first ever hole in one,” stated Mr. Shaffer. “I knew if I was ever going to get one it would be on the eighth hole, the fourth hole (also a par three on Brookwood Brae) is always a problem for me.”

“The great thing is that a lot of people saw it, because it happened on men’s night,” said Mr. Shaffer.
