TIMOTHY DAVID BAILEY

TIMOTHY DAVID BAILEY November 28, 1965 – August 7, 2023 With heavy hearts we regret to announce the passing of our son, husband and brother, Timothy David Bailey, at Mindemoya Health Centre on Monday, August 7, 2023 at the age of 57. Tim will be deeply missed by his loving spouse and best friend, Shelly Wright and her son, Wyatt. He is also mourned by his parents, Wayne and Seija Bailey and Shirley deChevigny (nee Lewis), as well as siblings Jeffrey (Tara), Michael (Heidi) and Melanie deChevigny-Caron (Maurice). Tim will also be remembered by his nephews and nieces Derek (Breanne), Mallory, Emily, Magda and Tristan (predeceased), as well as uncles, aunts, cousins and many dear friends. Tim was a veteran of the Canadian Air Force, serving Canada for 15 years. After leaving the air force, Tim worked for Bombardier as Emergency Manager of an “Aircraft on Ground Team,” travelling the world in response to damaged Bombardier aircraft requiring on site immediate emergency repairs. Upon his return to Manitoulin, he worked briefly for Manitoulin Transport and finally as bylaw enforcement officer for the municipalities of Burpee Mills and Gordon Barrie Island. Although short in stature, Tim excelled in athletic, as a long distance runner with Sudbury’s junior track and field team, as a ball player, catcher for the Cold Lake Alberta Airforce provincial champions, which competed in the Canadian championship fastball tournament in Nova Scotia. He also enjoyed skiing and playing hockey. The major lure of the Island was his love for snowmobiling, hunting and fishing. He and Wyatt spent many hours together on the water. Tim, you will be sorely missed. Tim’s ashes were nterred during a memorial service at Burpee Mill’s Cemetery on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mindemoya Health Centre (Palliative Care Unit).
