Ironman Iain!

Hats off to Iain McGale who recently competed at the Muskoka 70.3 half-Ironman distance race. Although half an Ironman is not half the pain, as Iain still had to swim almost two kilometres, bike over 90 km and finally wrapped it all up with a full, half-marathon of 21km! Iain finished in under seven hours and had a particularly strong swim, finishing in the top quarter of the 1,685 participants! Way to go, Iain!

North American Indigenous Games

The opening ceremonies of the NAIG 2023 had barely taken place on Monday morning when Manitoulin had one of its first medal winners. Dane Gibeault navigated very tough conditions for the C-1 3000m paddlers with very strong winds charging down the course, capsizing three paddlers! Dane is extremely experienced in any watercraft and was up to the challenge and finished with Bronze!

Summer Curlers!

Two young curlers from the Providence Bay Youth Curling Club attended the Amethyst Curling Camp in North Bay. The pair had lots of fun both on and off the ice, and learned from some of the best.  Congratulations to Devon McKelvie and Spencer Johnston!
