JEAN ADDISON (née Cook) May 16, 1936 – June 17, 2023 It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of Jean Addison (nee Cook) at the Manitoulin Health Centre in Mindemoya on June 17, 2023, at the age of 87. Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Arthur. Loving mother of Debbie Addison-Brawn, Pennie Addison and Joe Addison. Cherished grandma of Sydney and Roslyn Addison-Rudat and Jacob Addison. Predeceased by her parents Bert and Lauretta (Williams) Cook, her sister Betty (Fred) Rumley and her son-in-law Danny Brawn. Sadly missed by her sister-in-law and lifelong best friend Kay (Allen) Everett and brother-in-law Danny (Joy) Addison. Auntie Jean will be mourned as well by her nephew Tom (Linda) Rumley; nieces Kim (Darren) Lewis, Susie Slomke, Emilie (Jeff) Hyde and nephew Ted Addison. Also much loved by many great-nieces and great-nephews. Jean loved and was much loved by her community of friends and family in Silver Water, where she was born, married and raised a family until relocating to Waters Township from 1970 to 1994 when they retired back to Manitoulin Island. An active community member, Jean loved her time working with the UCW, Women’s Institute, fundraising for the Cancer Society and a number of other functions to support her community. Childhood sweethearts Arthur and Jean loved music and enjoyed many waltzes around the community hall dance floor! Jean loved gardening and was a talented baker, the sights, smell and taste of her pies, butter tarts and peanut butter cookies will be especially missed. Their grandchildren’s lives brought them many years of joy especially following their passions of music, theatre and hockey. Love and hugs forever and ever Amen! Any donations would be appreciated in Jean’s memory to St. Andrew’s United Church, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. A life well lived.
