PAULINE ANDREWS MIGWANEBI May 5, 1942 – June 12, 2023 Pauline Andrews Migwanebi passed away on June 12, 2023. She is the dear daughter of the late William and Lucy Ann Megwanabe. Loving mother of Connie Megwanebi and Kim (Shawn) Laundrie. Cherished by grandchildren Courtney (Lee), Nimkiis, Natasha (Curtis) and Kaylee (Duncan), as well as great-grandchildren Nico, Deacon, Caleb and Haisley. Beloved sister of Wesley Corbiere (Mary) (both predeceased), Irene Castonguay (Conrad) (both predeceased), Henry (Jean) (both predeceased), Louise Pine (predeceased), (Fred) Lawrence (Jean), Beatrice Bisaillon (Julian, predeceased), Edward, George (predeceased), James (Nora, predeceased). Also will be sadly missed by many friends, nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Pauline was a longtime employee of the Whitefish River First Nation and retired as the Band Administrator after serving her community for 30 plus years. She loved to travel, her destinations were places such as Italy, Israel, USA, Mexico and coast to coast in Canada, including the Northwest Territories. Pauline was a longtime volunteer for St. Gabriel Lalement Parish in Birch Island, organizing fundraisers to offset the operating cost of the Church. She also travelled with the Kateri Ministry in the early 1980s with her family. In her leisure, Pauline enjoyed camping, fishing, going to the sugar camp, playing bingo, playing cards with family and friends, painting and occasionally testing her luck at the casino. She enjoyed hosting family dinners and gatherings, following in the tradition of her mother. Her children and her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she cherished each and every moment with them.Visitation started on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 1 pm in her home in Birch Island. Funeral Mass was on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 11 am in the St. Gabriel Parish, Birch Island. Interment followed in the Birch Island Cemetery. Arrangements by Bourcier Funeral Home Ltd, Espanola. .
