Sherman Clyve Pyette

Pyette-Death

October 11, 1938 – September 18, 2013

In loving memory of Sherman Pyette, a resident of Mindemoya, who died at the Mindemoya Hospital on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the age of 74 years. He was born in Sandfield Twp., son of the late Reuben and Winnifred (Luscumb) Pyette. Sherman enjoyed being a “Jack of all trades” and had worked at many jobs throughout his lifetime. He had been a sign maker and thoroughly enjoyed tinkering and fixing things. There was nothing he couldn’t fix or get working, or at least try to. He enjoyed crosswords, playing cribbage with Eileen, watching baseball (Blue Jays) and hockey. Sherman enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially partridge hunting. He loved his dog Popeye, his best friend. Sherman’s greatest pleasure in life was spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed, but many memories will be cherished. Beloved husband of Eileen (Prophet) Pyette. Loving and loved father of Jeff (Connie) of Gore Bay, Rick (Kate) of Mindemoya, Reuben (Ted) of Huntsville and Steven (Tammy) of Nova Scotia. Proud grandfather of Christopher, Jordan, Brent, Emily, Zachary, Brielle, Zander and Rilla. Also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dear brother of Donna of Niagara Falls, Calvin (Edith predeceased) of Manitowaning, Gilbert (Florence) of Mindemoya, Lyle (Shirley) of Sheguiandah and Karen (John) of Florida. Predeceased by brother Buddy (George Lester). A graveside committal service to celebrate Sherman’s life was held at Hilly Grove Cemetery on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 3 pm with Mr. Lyle Dewar officiating. If so desired, donations to Mindemoya Hospital Chemo room, the Mindemoya Hospital Auxiliary or the Cancer Society would be appreciated. Culgin Funeral Home, Gore Bay, 705-282-2270.
