MARY JEAN RIDLEY

MARY JEAN RIDLEY
December 5, 1925 – December 5, 2022
Jean passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on her 97th birthday. Predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Don. Loving mom to Kathy (Clark) Nickol and Kim (predeceased in 2017) (Glen) Corbiere. Jean was an amazing grandma to Ryan (Heather), Kevin (Kristin), Kayla (Geoff), Randy, Aaron and Scott (Yuriko). Her grandkids knew they could talk to Grandma Jean about anything and always receive sage advice. Jean was blessed with six great-grandchildren, Ava, Ryley, Carter, Brinley, Rosalee and Kimmie. Jean will be remembered by many from her years at Eaton’s and the downtown pharmacy in Little Current. She was an active volunteer for the hospital auxiliary on the tuck cart and at the Manitoulin Centennial Manor. In her retirement, Jean loved spending time in Florida with Don, away from snowy, cold winters. Jean lived her life positively and cherished each day. The loss of Kim was a terrible blow, but she coped and continued to look on the bright side, right up to the day she died. At Jean’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life for family and friends in the spring. The final months of Jean’s life were spent at TLC Retirement Home in Little Current. Sincere thanks to Linda and the staff for their loving care. If so desired, donations may be made to Manitoulin Family Resources at canadahelps.org or Manitoulin Special Olympics, Box 86, Mindemoya, Ontario P0P 1S0.
