JASON QUENTIN HAGEN

In loving memory of Jason Quentin Hagen, 38 years, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital with his loving family at his side. Beloved husband of Mariolen (Groeneweg) Hagen. Loving father of Bastiaan and Olivia. Cherished son of Robert and Linda (Knott) Hagen, Mindemoya. Loving brother to Angela Hagen and James Hagen (Carolyn). Dear son-in-law of Wim and Eva Groeneweg. Special brother-in-law to Raul and Veronica Groeneweg, Adriana and Ryan Sherriff, Barbara Groeneweg and Debora and Alejandro Gomez. Lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews Lawson, Lillian, Liam, Anja, Raulito, Caty, Alejandro and Memo. Also cherished by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A life resident of Lively, Jason married Mariolen (nee Groeneweg) in 1999. As a teenager he had been a cadet in the Irish Regiment #2964 Walden where he excelled in activities and competitions later becoming an instructor and mentor to other cadets. Jason graduated from Laurentian University and eventually secured a job with Vale. He was presently a superintendent in Matte Processing. Jason had an inspired work ethic and led by example garnering the respect, loyalty and friendship of his colleagues and fellow workers. He enjoyed travelling, the outdoors, hunting, woodworking, and especially all his time spent on Manitoulin Island. Jason will be remembered for his wonderful smile and selfless spirit always putting others needs before his own. The priority of his life was his loving family especially his children whom he taught to always try their best and to be proud of who they are and what they did. Jason lived life to the fullest embracing everyday with passion and purpose. He was never afraid to try anything and was always up to a challenge. For Jason nothing was impossible. Rested at the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent Street, at Hazel Street, Sudbury. Prayers were at 3 pm on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Funeral Mass was in the St. Stanislaus Church, Copper Cliff on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 10 am. Cremation with interment in the Waters Cemetery.
