Five cruise ships to visit Little Current this year

Okeechobee Lodge, Killarney to have visits from Viking Cruises

LITTLE CURRENT—The Port of Little Current will be busy this year, hosting five cruise ships over 35 times from May until September.

Victory II, known to the port, will be the first to arrive on May 14. It will make further appearances on May 22, July 7, July 17, July 25, August 12, August 22 and August 30. At 300 feet with a 50-foot beam, the Victory II can host up to 202 passengers.

New to the port is the Vantage Ocean Explorer. This ship will tie up to the Little Current dock starting May 16 and again on May 24, June 3, June 11, September 13 and September 21. The Vantage Ocean Explorer is only one year old and can accommodate 162 guests, boasts a swimming pool, a library and three bars. The vessel is 341 feet long with a beam of 59 feet.

Another familiar sight to the Port of Little Current, Victory I, will tie up in Little Current on May 17, May 25, June 4, June 12, June 22, June 30, July 10, July 18, July 28, August 5, August 15, August 23, September 2, September 10, September 20 and September 28. Its stats are nearly identical to its sister ship, Victory II.

A Little Current favourite, Pearl Mist, will head to port on June 4, June 13, June 18, June 27, July 10, July 19, July 24, August 2, August 15 and August 24. The Pearl Mist is 325 feet in length with a 56-foot beam and can hold up to 210 passengers.

Another new vessel, Le Bellot, will appear twice in September: September 22 and September 28. Le Bellot is 430 feet with a 59-foot beam and holds up to 184 passengers on its five decks and has two restaurants.

New to the area, the cruise line Viking will be visiting the Okeechobee Lodge in Frazer Bay with Viking Octantis on May 25, June 22, July 20, August 3, August 17, August 31 and September 14 and also stopping in Killarney May 24, June 21, July 19, August 2, August 16, August 30 and September 13.
