Is it safe to say that spring is here yet? Some of the recent snowfall has said otherwise. To help the spring feeling come to life, here is a joke for you:

Why did the Easter egg hide? Because he was a little chicken.

Last weekend on Sunday, April 3, the MSS Robotics team, Manitoulin Metal, competed in North Bay. At this competition, the team received the Judges Award! Team member Alex Wilson-Zegil was also recognized in North Bay for being the top safety captain among all competing teams. Beginning today, they will be competing at provincials in Mississauga at the Paramount Center. Manitoulin Metal will be there for competition for the remainder of the week. Go, team, go!

On Thursday, April 7, the senior girls’ volleyball team hosted the NSSSA (North Shore Secondary School Athletic Association) Girls “A” Division tournament. The girls won all their games including their final game against Elliot Lake Secondary School which secured them the title of Division “A” champions. Congratulations girls on a wonderful wrap up to your season!

Today, Wednesday, April 13, the Easter celebrations are beginning at MSS! The Student Council has arranged a photo bunny scavenger hunt. During lunch, students can hunt for bunnies that have been put up around the school and take selfies with them. The trick is that some bunnies have something special about them, and those are the ones students need to find! The first 10 individuals to find all the bunnies with the special characteristics and submit their selfies will win a prize. Have fun hunting, Mustangs!

An Easter joke for you: What do you call a mischievous egg? A practical yolker.

The badminton season is up and going! Team members are off to NSSSA today, Wednesday, April 13, where they are going to play in hopes of qualifying for NOSSA (Northern Ontario Secondary School Athletics) which will take place after Easter on Thursday, April 22 and Friday, April 23. Good luck, Mustangs!

This Friday, April 15, is Good Friday and next Monday, April 18, is Easter Monday. Staff and students have both days off meaning it is a four-day weekend!

Joke of the week: What do you call a group of rabbits hopping backwards? A receding hare line.

Upcoming events include the Easter weekend and NOSSA badminton.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Easter weekend! Don’t eat too much chocolate!

Until the next time, “Dream and Believe. Learn and Achieve!”
