Drysdale-DeathBarbara Elaine Drysdale, a resident of Manitowaning, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on the morning of Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the age of 61, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Sudbury to parents Bert (predeceased) and Marie Anstice. Beloved wife and best friend of Harvey. Dear mother of Derek, Ronnie and Jerit (wife Cherrell). Devoted grandma of Mya, Derek Junior and Keisha. Loved sister of Carol Mayer (husband Lance), and Karen Smith (husband Joe). Beloved sister-in-law of Richard (wife Rollande), Larry, Heather Gieser (husband John), Gordon (wife Donna), Cathy Cresswell (husband Jim), Patrick (wife Cathy), Mary Lynn Potter (husband Robert). She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Barb was a strong independent woman who is cherished by all. Her compassion for everyone’s wellbeing was evident until the end. She loved spending time with family and friends, always a gracious hostess, enjoying the simple things in life, camping, boating, and the outdoors. She took great pride in her commitment to her work with Human Resources, Service Canada for 40+ years. She was dedicated to helping everyone, making it her purpose to make other people’s lives better. She was a foster Mom for 25 years, opening her home to so many. She will be greatly missed. Visitation was from 7 pm to 9 pm on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Knox United Church. Funeral Service was at 2 pm on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Knox United Church, Manitowaning.
