TEHKUMMAH–Gordon’s Park Eco Resort on Hwy 6, 13 minutes from the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry docks on Manitoulin Island, is pleased to host Stargazing Manitoulin.
Stargazing Manitoulin is happening this weekend from July 5 – 8 in the Royal Astronomical Society Canada dark sky preserve and includes camping, astronomy workshops, presentations, night sky observing, pot luck supper and a wine and cheese welcome reception. Guest speakers this year include Jeffrey Deans, who will do a session on astrophotography and Ray Khan with ‘Bring your own scope and learn how to use it.’ Aaron Top will once again thrill those in attendance with his astrophotography slide show featuring many of the photographs he has taken from the site, with a presentation on Aurora.
Guests interested to find out what a star party is all about are welcome to attend our public observing sessions with laser guided sky tours on the Friday and Saturday nights and can register by calling Gordon’s Park at 705-859-2470.
